In my final semester as an undergraduate student I volunteered to be on the media fair committee. It was a wonderful experience. For any MCOM students from ESU that may read this blog in the future- please volunteer to be on the committee. The more people get involved the more can be accomplished. At the very least- I cannot stress enough how important it is that you SUBMIT your work into the media fair. It is a chance to showcase your work, and because the judges are outside of our university- it is a chance to have your work judged by professionals in our intended career fields. I really became inspired seeing other students work (as I always do), but more importantly when I looked around the room at our own professors and the Dean of our department, as well as other people that were there seeing all of our works for the first time- it was surreal. So without preaching any further- please help Dr. Sockman out and get involved- get other students involved- and encourage everyone to submit their work!
